This trip offers some of the most stunning scenery in the area, finishing in the breathtaking Aigas Gorge. We start in the village of Struy twisting and turning our way downstream through ancient estates and land steeped in history. This trip can last anything between 3-4 hours so we will find a suitable place to stop for lunch on the way.
The river is teeming with wildlife and depending on the time of year you can expect to see otters, beavers, salmon, trout, osprey, and many other magnificent species. The final part of the trip is through the Aigas gorge which is sure to take your breath away. This is a half-day river trip meeting at 10 am at the Aigas Gorge car park on your chosen date.
We leave your vehicle and transfer upriver to the start point in Struy by minibus. After some basic instruction and safety information we set off. The price includes your guide for the duration of the trip, minibus shuttle service between start and finish points, boats, equipment, and buoyancy aid.
We meet on the east shore by the dam for a short safety briefing, get to know our boats, and practise a few paddling strokes in the sheltered bay. When ready, we head down the Loch taking in some of the best scenery the Highlands have to offer. We explore Islands and inlets on our way down and have our Lunch on an Island of your choice.
This is a must-experience for birds and nature lovers alike, you will be amazed at the abundance of wildlife on offer. Loch Beinn a Mheadhoin is the location of a proposed Eurasian beaver release so we will keep a lookout for any fresh signs on our trip. We go as far down the Loch as you like (It is your day) and in the correct conditions, we can raft up and enjoy some sailing.
The day ends back at the dam. This trip starts and finishes at the same place so no need for a shuttle service.
